After careful consideration of the progress of many full virtual students, the reduced number of COVID cases in our community, and the Governor's Proclamation of Phase III, the Iberia Parish School System is not accepting requests for students to switch from Full Virtual Instruction to Face to Face (Grades K-6) or Hybrid Instruction (Grades 7-12).
Parents may request their child be removed from Full Virtual Instruction and begin Hybrid learning. Requests can be made by contacting the school at 337-364-3927. Requests must be made by October 30, 2020. Please contact your child's school for further information on the request process and the return date for students.
IBERIA PARISH SCHOOL DISTRICT PRESS RELEASE
OCTOBER 29, 2020
At this time, the Iberia Parish COVID-19 positivity rate is 3.4%, and the school district positive case rate and quarantining rate are minimal. Therefore, on November 16, 2020, the Hybrid Instructional Model for middle and high school students will be replaced with a full face-to-face instructional model 5 days a week. All middle and high schools are prepared to welcome back students while continuing to implement all state and CDC operational guidelines to the greatest extent possible. Students currently enrolled in the Full Virtual Model may remain on that model. Parents may choose to transition full virtual students to face-to-face instruction during the window which closes October 30, 2020. Current hybrid students may switch to the Full Virtual Model by contacting their school prior to November 16, 2020.
